We bought a 3 seater Cavendish with superior mattress at the beggining of September 2012. We wanted to see the futon prior to purchasing so visited the workshop in Oxford on the Saturday. We were so impressed that we took ours home the very same day! I had no problems in putting the futon together and only needed a second pair of hands to ensure no damage was caused whilst fixing the back piece into the running mechanism. We have since had our first guest stay on the futon in bed mode and she was so comfortable that she had to be woken up the next morning! She also commented that it was as comfortable as the futon matresses she had slept in whilst living in Japan. My wife (8 months preganant) also managed to fall asleep on this whilst it was in seat mode it was so comfortable, unfortunately the 4 hour sleep was unplanned and made her late for picking up the afore mentined guest. I would have no problem in recommending this futon to everyone. It looks smart, is extremely comfortable and of a good quality. Thank you Futons-Direct.

This is an excellent futon both in function and appearance. It was simple to assemble (1 person) and went together fairly quickly. Amazing quality! We use it in our spare room for guests and occasionally my husband when his back is bothering him. He finds it very comfortable with plenty of support. Customer service was great, I ordered online and yet had a pleasant gentleman to answer my call when I had a question. Would definitely order from this company again.

My Cavendish Bifold futon arrived today, which is when I was told it would arrive (this in itself please me as I've been let down by so many big name stores lately).
I put the futon together in no time, nothing was missing and everything fit together beautifully.
The mattress and cover feel really well made and it's more comfortable than my sofa!
Overall there's nothing about it I can fault, I'm really very pleased.

I bought the Penang (Cavendish) 3-seater hardwood sofa-bed and am absolutely delighted with it. I travelled to Eynsham in order to see the product for myself prior to purchase, but I need not have troubled to make the journey. It is even better in reality than it looks on the website. Excellent quality in every way - frame is really sturdy but elegant, the cushion thick and very comfortable. It arrived yesterday afternoon and assembly was no problem. I was able to sit on it last evening to watch Ch4 News and would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a 3-seater sofa that converts in seconds into a really comfortable double bed. Just a brief line to let you know that the Penang futon sofa bed purchased recently was used by our son and partner this weekend. They reported that it was comfortable and easy to convert from sofa to bed. My wife and I put the flat pack together in about 1¼ hours and are very pleased with it.

I love the Penang futon so much I have bought two! A joiner friend of mine described it as a beautifully-made piece of furniture, and so it is. It is a very handsome sofa which graces any home, being both simple and stylish. It turns into a bed in a trice, and is as comfortable as the sofa. The wood is a hardwood, so very durable, but from a fast-growing sustainable tree, so environmentally friendly. Finally the mattress ... now a very lightweight bouncy (by futon standards) beast, which comes in a good range of shades.
