How quickly can you deliver?

Futons, futon sofa beds and covers that are in stock can be delivered to most parts of UK mainland in 24-48 hours. If the item is not in stock, it will take about 4-5 working days for delivery. We can also arrange very rapid short-notice deliveries to London (call 01865 880 005 for this service).

Which days would you deliver?

Delivery is on the day of your choice, Monday to Friday. Early deliveries (by 1pm) are available for an additional £10. Some Saturday deliveries are also possible for parts of the UK and cost £10 to £20 extra.

Can the futon be collected?

You can visit us to pick up your futon, please call 01865 880005 to arrange a collection time. We are in the village of Eynsham (5 miles west of Oxford), there is a map on the contact us page of the website.
All the futon frames are flatpacked and will fit into a hatchback or estate car.

Is my futon guaranteed?

Yes, your futon is guaranteed against fault for one year. Also in the unlikely event of damage incurred in shipping.

Is there a choice of colours for the futon mattress covers?

Your futon mattress can be covered in a wide choice of popular fabrics and colours. Please see our mattress colours and fabrics page.

Do you sell replaceable futon covers?

We sell separate, dry cleanable futon covers for all the futon sizes that we sell. Covers cost £60 for drill fabrics and £15 extra for chenille or faux-suede fabrics.

What's special about your futon mattresses?

All our futon mattresses are constructed using the latest high-tech materials (sprung-fibre natural fillings and super-rebound polyester). More information can be found on our futon mattresses page. Replacement tri-fold and bi-fold double futon mattresses are a speciality of ours.

Why are these new futon materials better?

The new futon filling is lighter, mostly pre-compressed and has a bouncy feeling to it. The fact that the futon mattress is pre-compressed means that it will not squash down and go flat and lumpy like the old type of wool and cotton fillings that many companies are still using. All our futons also have at least one layer of rebound polyester for extra comfort.

Our Oxford pine futon is made from ultra high quality New Zealand pine. We believe that in terms of thickness of the wood, general appearance and lack of splinters and sap pockets this is the best pine futon on the UK market.The Oxford pine futon is also supplied with the same high quality futon mattress as the more expensive 2 seater futons.

inferior metal or they are often supplied with a thin unsuitable futon mattress.

Are your futon sofa beds easy to operate?

All our futon sofa beds are easy to operate, some literally convert in a few seconds. Easiest to operate are the 3 seater bases, they take 2-3 seconds to convert into a double bed and are the futon sofabeds we would recommend for frequent or everyday use. The easiest 2 seater futons are the Boston and the Tokyo which convert easily from the front, using one hand and don't need to be moved away from the wall.

How do I pay for my futon?

You can pay by credit card, debit card, or you can send a cheque in the post made out to Futons Direct. At the moment online orders don't have payment taken until we confirm verbally that you are ordering the correct item.

Which model makes the best futon bed?

Our Oxford pine futon can be supplied with a superior bi-fold futon mattress which is
suitable as a main bed. This futon frame is strong, comfortable and makes a low sturdy bed. The additional cost is plus £20 and can be ordered by email or telephone.

Price comparison for your futons

Some of our futons are half the high street price. Also regarding price, please beware of internet sites selling cheap pine and metal bases and thin mattresses for what seems to be a bargain price. These items are uncomfortable, unsuitable and a waste of money. For value and comfort, shop in the middle, avoiding inflated high street prices, but also avoid trash disguised as a bargain.
